Cinemas around Aberdeen

Cineworld Cinema Aberdeen - Queens Links

Queens Link Leisure Park, Links Rd, Aberdeen AB24 5EN, UK – 0330 333 4444

Typical Cineworld cinema showing first run films in nine screens of varying capacity. Tickets available to buy at all tills and at three machines in the foyer. Reasonably well stocked bar accessible by stairs or a lift. Only (minor) drawback is that staff insist on queues at each of the kiosk tills rather than the much fairer single queue system.

For being the older Cineworld in Aberdeen, it's the better of the two. If only they employees remember to actually turn on the 3D fuctions of the 3D showings. Most showings start their 3D films in 2D until someone has to go out and remind them to turn it on. You could seriously gamble money on them forgetting and make a fortune!

Cineworld Cinema - Aberdeen Union Square

1, Guild Square, 26 Guild St, Aberdeen AB11 5RG, UK – 0330 333 4444

Great cinema which a huge choice of films. Its always clean, tidy and the staff are helpful. Check in to the screens is fast, especially if you've booked on-line. Surrounded by a restaurants and parking. Only minus is the cost of refreshments and snacks is a bit steep. The new 4DX screen makes it worth a visit though.

So easy to purchase tickets. There are ticket counters and also touch screen machines to choose the movie and the choices of seats. If you have a family of 4 with maximum 2 adults, they have family ticket prices which is the cost of 4 child ticket. The cinema seats are clean and comfortable.

Lighthouse Cinema, 10 Ship Row, Aberdeen AB11 5BW, UK – 0345 308 4620

Totally awesome experience.. loved it. Tickets so cheap (£4.99 only)...also discount if parked in the nearly parking ... absolutely amazing...must go for all...

Haven't been to the Vue for many years and it's changed a lot since I was last in. Very nice place with friendly staff serving popcorn and food. Plenty to choose from in the snack department and I think it was possibly less to buy than some of the other cinema chains. Seats were very comfortable, spacious and with plenty of leg room. Perfect for some of the longer films. Very enjoyable experience overall which I'd recommend on trying out.

Theatres for Aberdeen

His Majesty's Theatre

Rosemount Viaduct, Aberdeen AB25 1GL, UK – 01224 641122

This theatre has kept the grandeur of the past whilst being modernised. I am not a fan of the extension from the outside, I don't feel it keeps with the original building but on the inside it feels like stepping back in time. The decor remains the same and it's a lovely place to watch a show. I'm a huge fan of HMT and always love visiting.

Scary high when going to the balcony, also can't see the band almost at all from up there. People who pay more see the whole thing, others listem to them cheering first. :/ Still pretty architecture and the actors were good on Grease! When you afford paying a bit more to see the whole stage, then it could be a REALLY nice experience!

34-48 Guild St, Aberdeen AB11 6NB, UK – 01224 592755

Great venue. Get up close to the performance. No problem seeing or hearing. Toilets a bit cramped for s 500 audience. Looking forward to a music gig to make a comparison to the stand up show we saw.

High School Musical. Fantastic show from the very talented youngsters of AYMT. First class venue.

Aberdeen Arts Centre

33 King St, Aberdeen AB24 5AA, UK – 01224 635208

Gray's School of Dance show 2018. Volunteers were all very friendly and helpful, nice atmosphere.

Excellent Aberdeen venue, with really helpful and friendly staff. The cafe is worth a visit even when not attending a show - very reasonably priced, however don't expect lattes etc.
