This hotel is 'interesting" because I feel like we had an experience most people do not here. We were not in the hotel. We were given an apartment like suite with a kitchen and living room across the ally. It was private and there was a washing machine. When you travel, a washing machine is a big win, but there was no hot water in the bathtub (shower had plenty!). So, because we were apart from the hotel in a separate complex, it was not as easy as just phoning down to the desk for a fix on the hot water. It was easy to get to everything from food to entertainment. I only gave it four stars because I can't really say I am a fan, but the apartment was extremely clean and nice. It just felt like you were staying in someone's home. Give it a try for yourself...I would recommend the hotel for the great breakfast and good staff....and the apartment was very good. It would be nice if the parking was on-site and not so expensive.
Great hotel very freindly and helpful staff..food I the resteraunt was very nice with great service. Only one minor fault with the room was the lack of air con or ceiling fan. The room was very hot and couldn't leave window open due to street noise .would happily stay again and highly recommend

Very decent hotel joined to the the Union Square, a shopping centre located in the centre of Aberdeen. Very practical for business travellers. Buffet Breakfast is superb and if you feel like something different or buying something there are countless restaurants and shops in the shopping center. Close to the train, bus station and taxi park but also quiet...
Clean, neat and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The location is great.

Nice hotel with good facilities and nice distance from city cente. The room itself was very spacious and the main bed was very large and comfortable. Unfortunately the pull-out sofa bed was dreadfully uncomfortable, which ruined the stay for me. I woke up in the middle of the night and my side had gone numb from the framework you could feel through the bed. I tried to get back to sleep for two hours before going to try to sleep in my car instead.
Had a lovely stay, the sea views are outstanding. Breakfast is excellent and by one the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. The beds are extraordinarily comfortable, the WiFi is good, television package is well appointed too. There's not a lot to dislike here apart from the entrance ways being a bit dingy and acrid from the smokers standing in the door ways.

Been here for food and drinks two separate occasions. Both really good! Food was amazing, so much so I'm looking forward to the next visit already
Low-light, but comfortable bar. Not cheap, but reasonable. Service good, food adequate, staff pleasant.

The waiters were very fast and pleasant, in particular, the guy named James who was ver kind. The food was very good... The Hamburgers and the Gammon steak were delicious and the location is nice!
Nice place with good food and fair prices. Kind of sports bar ambience, but still quiet enough to have a conversation. We would eat here again

Slains Castle is a ornate and quaint pub just off Union Street in downtown Aberdeen, it has a wide variety of decorations, statues, ornaments, pictures and other embellishments too varied for the eye to take in, everywhere you look is something different. It's also set over several levels and although they call it a castle it resembles more a haunted house. I bought 3 pints of cider for less than £9 so I am happy although the service was a little slow.
Great spot fair prices for a city pub. Nice food friendly staff. Excellent gothic decor. The door to the toilet through the book case fantastic. Next time I'm in Aberdeen I'll be popping in for a pint.

I rang up at 8pm on the day of wanting to check in, in hope they’d have an apartment left for 3 guests, as another local apartment (Aldephi Suites...warning) had let us down last minute by rejecting the guests due to them being 20 years old and demanding they were to suddenly put an extra £500 deposit down which was never mentioned until further phone calls after growing obvious concerns on their behalf about the guests...after being left outside the apartment for over 4+ hours after arriving I was then on the phone to Expedia for a couple hours to try resolve the issue in order to make sure my partner and friends had somewhere safe to stay...(deeply upsetting and frustrating experience). So in a panic of my partner and his friends being left stranded on the streets, I rang up Thistle Apartments in hope they would have room...of which they did. Not only did the sympathise with my experience they ensured me they’d match the price of the other apartment and make sure my guests (as I wasn’t present) were checked in and all okay. I believe it was Lucas who dealt with myself and the group and I cannot thank him enough. He has been so utterly kind and I hope more guests choose to stay with them! Plus the apartment is gorgeous from what I’ve seen on the videos my partner has sent me! Thank you so much.

Perfect location across the street of the university. Bus stop near the b&b or a 20 min walk to the city Center. Mary was very kind and she makes a lovely Malaysian breakfast, and other cakes (eg for the trip home), so nice! Will definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Brentwood Villa, Mary was so welcoming, room was nice and clean, beds were nice and soft, My son was asleep within 5mins, the English breakfast was really tasty. Mary went the extra mile and gave me and my son some homemade cake to take away with us, also she gave my son two large bags of sweets to take to the Swimming competition he was competing at the weekend. We will becoming back next time we have a swimming competition in Aberdeen and I have already recommended Brentwood Villa to fellow swim parents to stay next time we have a comp. Thank you Mary we look forward to seeing you again.

A very nice Guest House. Close to the station and close to Union Street. Perfectly located for strolling through the town. And very friendly hosts.
Very friendly people, good breakfast, clean room with everything you expect for a good price!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
